A Ball Buddy golf ball stencil works with any fine-tip permanent marker — the Sharpie Fine is the standard example, and it is the nib the slots are cut for. A pen in the colour you designed with comes free with every stencil, and spares are £1.99 in Black, Red, Blue, Pink. Ballpoints and gel pens skate off a ball's cover, so avoid those. Ball Buddy fits every golf ball made to the Rules of Golf, because every conforming ball is 42.67 mm across and the stencil is made to that size. Pro V1, Chrome Soft, TP5, a lake ball found on the 7th — they are all the same diameter, so there is nothing to choose or measure.
Each Ball Buddy is laser-sintered in PA12 nylon, the same process and material used for tough engineering parts. It is slightly grippy, does not crack in a golf bag, and does not mind a wet day or a hot car.
A drawn line on a golf ball is allowed in competition. The Rules of Golf encourage an identifying mark, and an alignment line counts — tour players use them every week. You can change a Ball Buddy design until it goes into production: reply to your confirmation email with the change and we swap it. Once the stencil has been made it is yours, so look carefully at the 3-D preview before you pay.
If a Ball Buddy arrives damaged or not as designed, email us a photo and we make another and post it, at no cost and with no fuss. Your design is kept on file, so the replacement is an exact repeat.
Ready-made Ball Buddy designs can be returned within 14 days of delivery if unused. Custom designs are made to order for you alone, so there is no change-of-mind return on those — but anything faulty is replaced free. Returns.
You can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, through Stripe's secure checkout. Your card details go to Stripe and never to us — we see the last four digits and nothing else.
You do not need an account to order a Ball Buddy — you can buy as a guest. An account lets you track orders, keep your designs and reorder in a click, and you can set one up after paying with just a password.
We use your details to make and post your order, and for nothing else unless you ask. Our own visitor counting sets no cookies at all, advertising cookies from Google or TikTok are only set if you say yes on the banner, and we never sell lists.
